Post  Velocirapteryx Wed 04 Jul 2012, 12:51 pm

Thsi building complex is where InGen scientist's created, and cloned the Chaos Effect dinosaurs. There were many rooms, each had their own reason for it's existence. Now, since all the scientist's left in a hurry, half of the technology is still there. Now, the building complex is overrum by Alpha Raptor's. Some Velocirapteryx have made their nests in the towers, where the Alpha Raptors cant get too.

*Blu has entered the Embryonic's Laboratory*

Blu looked around frantically. Three Alpha raptors had just been chasing him down a narrow corridor only a few moments ago. But where were they? He had lost them after going through a network of rooms that lead to where he was now. Blue could no longer smell their rancid breath, but only hear his frantic panting. He looked around at the large room; it was similar to a rotunda, with the exception being it was not quite so tall. In the center, large, flat tables with dozens of eggs lay. The eggs were either cracked or completely broken in half. Beside each table was a large, vertical tube. Blu could see some kind of liquid inside, but it didn't smell like water. There were small dinosaur infants each tube. He recognized three of the five infants, but thankfully none were his own kind. The Velocirapteryx slowly circled the room. An overal feeling of trepidation had come over Blu when he first entered, but as time had increased so to had that same feeling. Leaping upon a small scaffolding, Blu surveyed the area. He could see three doorways, each equally distanced between themselves. The rancid odor of the Alpha Raptors blew across from the door to his right, so Blu decided to enter the one on his left.

It was dark, but as his pupils dilated, Blu became accustomed to the lack of light. He continued walking, his feet making soft clattering noises on the ground. He hoped it wouldn't attract those pesky raptors. But the problem was that Blu did not know where he was. This was a part of the complex he had yet to explore, and now he was fully turned around. Seeing a small staircase, Blu approached it. The stone was hard, cold, and lifeless. It only echoed his footsteps louder, so he walked quickly. Once Blu reached the top, he could see an empty room, totally devoid of all life. There were no windows, only darkness. His sense of smell told him to walk forward, that there was yet another staircase to be explored. This one was much more narrower, too narrow for an adult Alpha Raptor to squeeeze through. If that wasn't enough, parts of the stairs had collapsed, so Blu had to leap to reach the next step, barely making some of the jumps. But once Blu got to the top, it opened up into a cozy room. The area was open, with at least seven windows. Most of the windows were broken out, though there were a couple still intact.

Vines had creeped along the walls, sporting tiny, purple and white flowers. In the corner there was a small desk. Most of the papers that had once been located on the desk, had now fluttered down to the ground. Feeling secure, Blu curled up and slowly drifted off to sleep.

Chaos Effect - Embryonic's Laboratory Empty Re: Chaos Effect - Embryonic's Laboratory

The cold metal door gave off a shrill screak as Algol slowly pushed against it with his body, the sound tensing him slightly as he halted for a few seconds to make sure nothing had heard the sound and come to investigate. Cautiousness settling in further, he turned his head back to face the corridor he'd just come down. Nothing. Just the slight wind blowing in from the disjointed vent situated on the ceiling above, one of many signs that this old building had seen better days.

His feelings of concern gone, Algol stepped through the open doorway and emerged into the next room. Slowly, with all of his senses on maximum, he turned his head from left to right, getting a good look at the room he had walked into.

Spread across the rightmost wall was a long, cracked window that overlooked another unseen room below. Over to the left were rows of cubicles, each one housing a computer terminal. All the screens were pitch black and covered completely in dust, with not even a blinking light to give life to the dull emptiness of the room. On the wall directly next to the door Algol had entered from was a whole array of post-its, clipboard plans and metal cupboards. As the raptor turned his head towards the wall, he noticed what looked like a slightly torn calender. The current page read November 1993, with the number 14 circled in red marker pen. Of course, being a dinosaur, Algol understood little of the human language written all over the wall, but after seeing this room as many times as he had, he could guess what it all meant.

Heading over to the window, the raptor instantly noticed the dozens upon dozens of large metal crates scattered all over the room below. Each crate was marked with the InGen logo, followed by a number of some sort, then an assortment of words.

Algol's concentration was then broken by the telltale sound of another Alpha Raptor. Or rather, three. Judging from all the noise they were making, it seemed they were in pursuit of a potential meal. A Velocirapteryx, probably. Snarling in annoyance, Algol took one more glance at the room full of crates, before turning around and darting back through the door and into the previous corridor, the sound of his feet against the metal echoing across many rooms.

Chaos Effect - Embryonic's Laboratory Empty Re: Chaos Effect - Embryonic's Laboratory

Blu opened his eyes slowly. He could still hear the snarls from the Alpha raptors, but their voices were diminishing. Night light strode through the windows. Blu looked out across the sky and was astounded by the number of stars present tonight. He let out a breath of amazement, but then remembered why he was awake. He was hungry. Walking over to one of the broken windows, Blu looked to see if he could safely jump out. He was in luck after all. Shortly below the window was metal roofing that went down and down until it left off at about 8 feet from the ground. The slope was gradual enough so that he wouldn't have to worry about falling head over heels to the ground. So leaping out, Blu descended down until he jumped rather awkwardly from the roofing. His body made a great thump as it hit the ground, but he hoped it was soft enough so that the Alpha Raptors did not hear him. Quickly, he made his way into the surrounding jungle.

Sights and smells overloaded his senses. The night air was brisk and cool; it was much more relaxing than the air in that tiny room. Suddenly, his nose caught the scent of infants. Shortly thereafter, he could hear their pathetic cries for their mother. Curious, Blu approached the sound but with a wary step. In front of him sat eight very fat little Alpha Raptor chicks. By the looks of it, they were only a few days old; their parents wouldn't leave them alone for too long. Quickly, almost delicately, Blu plucked three of the chicks out, one by one, and scooped them up into his greedy mouth, eating them whole. The other five now could see him and began to cry out louder. He quickly silenced each of them, but was unable to eat all at the same time. So he ate what he could and decided to carry the remaining three chicks back to his little room. He clambered up into a low-hanging tree for airlift and then flapped his wings. He got off the ground awkardly at first, but then rapidly gained altitude until he reached his room once more. After hiding the chicks very carefully in a pile of vines, Blu walked over to the window and continued to watch the stars.

*Ezio has entered*

Carrying his trophies took quite a bit of effort on his part. Ezio moved swiftly and silently through the trees, clutching his belongings with teeth and claws. He was in peak condition, and he needed somewhere to go. He paused to examine the buildings nearby. He smelled a Raptor Alpha... and his kind. Ezio flicked his feathers in surprise. One individual... alone? It didn't really compute, except for himself.

He snorted. Nevertheless, he would investigate. He couldn't glide because of his trophies weighing him down. Instead, he released a soft, cackling call, his signature. He settled down on a branch, fluffed his golden feathers, and waited.

Blu's head shot up when he heard the familiar call of his own kind. Could it really be another Velcoirapteryx? He would have to find out. He returned the call and then decided to clamber down the roofing once more. On the last roof, he glided down with gentle ease and called again to see if one of his kind were really there and it was not a fake. But he could smell the creature and it was true. Carefully, Blu walked toward the sound, but with wary eyes watching the shadows for a sign of an Alpha Raptor approaching. He stopped however when he felt some type of sticky liquid drop on his head from an above branch. It was blood of some kind an animal but Blu did not know what. However when he looked up he realized that there was a Velcoirapteryx standing in the branch above.

Ezio examined the other Velocirapteryx for a moment before dropping down. It had been a while since he'd seen a member of his own kind. He set down his personal items. Surely, to Blu, Ezio looked bizarre; most of his kind drove him away when the encountered him because they had never seen a Shade Velocirapteryx before. If push came to shove, they would be an even match, with Ezio outweighing Blu by a pound or two. He was good at sizing up opponents, and always had been; it had allowed him to survive all this time as a loner. Ezio sniffed the other Velocirapteryx. Nope, not associated with a pack, and he ate recently. More good news.

Ezio relaxed and gestured to his collection, offering Blu a chance to examine Ezio's prizes.

Blu looked at Ezio warily. He carried trohpies with him, but why? Blu could only imagine what might have happened in his background to cause Ezio to do this. He was rather fascinated with the tail spike, but the Velocirapteryx claw bothered him. He certainly knew that he had no wish to get in a quarrel with Ezio, even though he felt he could defend himself fairly well. But, some compnay would be quite nice, so Blu barked at Ezio to see if he wanted something to eat at Blu's makeshift nest. He still had the Alpha Raptor chicks hidden away, and they would most certainly make a nice snack.

Ezio agreed, noting how warily Blu looked at the rapteryx claw. He didn't blame him at all. It was a reminder... the first time he had ever killed one of his own kind. It was something he frowned upon, but it had been necessary-- it was either Ezio, or the enraged older male. And Ezio preferred to live. He followed Blu into the complex, sniffing warily. He held his head high, examining everything that interested him, be it a bench or an old vending machine. He had seen these before, back in the humans' heyday. They shined, whirred, and hummed. It frightened Ezio a little bit, but intrigued him also.

Blu gestured to the Raptor Alpha hatchlings. They were tiny, no longer than Ezio's wing finger, probably less than a pound in weight... but plump, too. Ezio examined the tail spike... and slid it over to Blu, his way of saying thanks, grabbed a hatchlings, ripped a leg off, and swallowed it whole.

Blu nodded his head in thanks to Ezio for the tail spike and picked it up gingerly. He wasn't quite sure what exactly to do with it since he had never actually owned anything before. But he decided that it would be best to show the spike off. Looking around, Blu noticed the desk he had seen earlier. Picking it back up again, Blue walked over to the wooden desk and softly set the gift down. He propped it up against an old computer screen. The light from a nearby window shone at exactly the right place and made the spike almost sparkle and glow. Pleased with the effect, Blu decided to turn his attention to the other Velocirapteryx.

Gesturing toward him, he tried to ask why Ezio was alone through a series of low grunts and growls. He was curious about him after all. Especially as to what brought him here, to the Embryonics Complex.

*Feather Tail has entered the Embryonics Laboratory*

Flying swiftly across the sky, Feather Tail landed in a small space on top of a tower. He cawed, adn groomed himself quickly. His claws dug into the sidebars, as the bottom had been stomped away by an Alpha Raptor. Finally, when he was ready, he flew down to the ground. Landing softly on the overgrown tile ground, he cawed for fellow Velocirapteryx. He was only here for a new pack member, that's it. He dashed down the long hallways, passing rooms with broken windows and torn apart furniture. Fianlly, he spotted a Velocirapteryx, two actually. He knew these Rapteryx very little, except for their names; Blu and Exzio. He cawed to them, greeting them. He looked at Blu, and remembered hw was supposed to be packless. He asked him if he would liek to join his pack, and maybe Ezio would.

Blu regarded Feathertail with thought. It would be nice to be a member of a pack once more, but he was rather untrusting of any newcomer. How did he know to come here to find himself and Ezio? Suspicion clawed at his innards, his better judgement telling him to walk away. But something overrode that feeling. Perhaps it was the need to socialize with his own kind, or maybe the need to be with others for protection against other animals, like an Alpha Raptor. Blu knew what his decision was.

Albeit with some reluctance, he agreed to join Feathertail's pack. He was hoping Ezio would agree as well, he did at least know him a little. Besides, it would be nice to get away from the Embyonic's Laboratory for some time. Blu remembered what every machine had done, and he recalled the fear that he had felt at each glance at the whirring of the mechanical machinery. Up until now he had been able to quell the fear and fight it down without showing his apprehension, but for some reason it suddenly flared back up.

Before Feather Tail came in, Ezio explained. His family had been killed by a pack of Compstegnathus. After that, when he had attempted to join a pack, they had turned him away, due to his different coloration. As Feathertail made himself known, Ezio sized up the other male. Feather Tail seemed harmless enough. But Blu seemed to be afraid for some reason. He knew what the Creators had done, but it hadn't been enough to give him any long-lasting psychiatric effects.

He'd been born six months before the island was abandoned. He didn't know it, but he was supposed to be special, bred for a different purpose than normal rapteryx.

After all, he'd been bred for war.
